Steamboat Slough Resort

A Great Place for Family, Friends and Cocktails

About Steamboat Slough Resort

As the Sacramento River runs towards the San Francisco Bay it begins to branch off into the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta better known as the California Delta. One off the first sloughs off the main channel is Steamboat Slough on the northern tip of Grand Island. That is where you find Steamboat Resort along side vineyards and pear orchards.

Originally a restaurant Steamboat Resort is now a private boat resort with guests dating back generations. The resort has a dock where houseboats and yacht remain year round. Summer guests use the dock to access their boats summer spot along both sides of the quiet slough.

Steamboat Slough provides a great place to relax. To beat the heat Steamboaters turn to the water for a midday float in the current. In the evening it is difficult not to enjoy an ice cold beer or cocktail as the sun sets and the delta breeze cools you off. One too many may lead to a late night float or as Matt says "a night yak".

Across the street is a great local winery, Grand Island vineyards. For a killer lunch Courtland Market has the burger and deli options or try Tony’s Taco truck that provides classic Mexican food. For dinner Guistis is the spot to get a fantastic meal. Some Steamboaters have been know to smoke a mean rib or two.

For the more active it is a great place to ski, wakeboard, watertube, bike, run, fish or enjoy a fully stocked game room.
